On this day February 28, 1980, the iconic glasses of Buddy Holly and the wristwatch belonging to the Big Bopper were discovered in old police records. Also, it's worth noting that Richie Valens, Buddy Holly, and The Big Bopper tragically perished in the same plane crash back in 1959.
