On August 28th 1988 at Flugtag '88 airshow at USAF in West Germany Ramstein airbase an accident happened that claimed the lives of 77 people. Also 346 spectators were seriously injured and 100s more with minor. Three aircraft of the Italian Air Force display team collided during their display, crashing to the ground in front of a crowd of about 300,000 people. Hundreds more had minor injuries.
