On this day March 21 1988 the compilation album Now That’s What I Call Music 11 was released in the UK. The album became an instant success reaching number one on the UK charts and continuing the popular Now series that featured the biggest hits of the time.
Now 11 included a mix of pop rock and dance hits from some of the biggest artists of the late 80s offering fans a snapshot of the music scene. The Now That’s What I Call Music series has since become one of the longest-running and most successful compilation franchises in music history.
