  4. 1985 Marilyn‘s Despite Straight Lines and Mötley Crüe‘s Theater of Pain albums were released. Cocoon and Return to Oz premiered in theaters.
  5. 1986 Me & Mrs. C aired on NBC.
  6. 1987 Keel‘s Keel, White Lion‘s Pride and Helix’s Wild in the Streets were released.
  7. 1988 Paula Abdul’s Forever Your Girl, Chicago‘s Chicago 19, Information Society‘s Information Society, Big Daddy Kane’s Long Live the Kane, Book of Love’s Lullaby and Steve Winwood‘s Roll with It albums were released. Guns N’ Roses single Sweet Child o’ Mine was released.
  8. 1989 David Hasselhoff‘s Looking for Freedom was released. The final episode of Hard Time on Planet Earth aired. The U.S. Supreme Court Ruled that American flag burning is a form of political protest protected by the first amendment.

  4. 1986 Peter Cetera‘s album Solitude/Solitaire was released.
  5. 1987 The Outfield‘s Bangin’ and Sammy Hagar’s I Never Said Goodbye albums were released. Madonna’s Who’s That Girl became number 1 in the U.S.
  6. 1989 Batman and Honey, I Shrunk the Kids premiered in theaters. The final episode of the game show Relatively Speaking aired.

  2. 1982 Dexys Midnight Runners‘ song Come On Eileen became number 1 in the U.S. Blade Runner, Megaforce and the Thing premiered in theaters.
  3. 1984 Prince’s Purple Rain and Mike Oldfield‘s Discovery albums were released.
  4. 1987 Skinny Puppy Cleanse Fold and Manipulate.

  2. 1981 Stripes, The Great Muppet Cape and Dragonslayer premiered in theaters.
  3. 1983 Soap opera show Loving premiered on ABC.
  4. 1984 Icehouse’s Sidewalk album was released.
  5. 1985 Pale Rider premiered in theaters.
  6. 1987 Dragnet, Full Metal Jacket and Straight To Hell premiered in theaters. The final episode of Rocky Road aired on tv. Rosanne Cash‘s King's Record Shop album was released. The New York Yankees beat the Boston Red Sox 12 - 11 (10 innings) after they were losing 9 - 0 on a Friday night.

  1. 1980 Olivia Newton-John and the Electric Light Orchestra‘s album Xanadu (Soundtrack) was released. Jerry Ruess (Los Angeles Dodgers) pitched a no hitter against the San Francisco Giants.
  2. 1981 Kim Carnes’ Bette Davis Eyes became the number 1 song in the U.S. for the second time. Motörhead’s No Sleep ‘til Hammersmith live album was released.
  3. 1983 Twisted Sister’s You Can’t Stop Rock ‘n’ Roll album was released.
  4. 1985 Lee Aaron‘s Call of the Wild album was released.
  5. 1986 Labyrinth, Running Scared and American Anthem premiered in theaters. Queensrÿche‘s Rage for Order album was released.
  6. 1988 Jethro Tull’s 20 Years of Jethro Tull box set and Riders in the Sky’s Riders Radio Theater albums were released. Mike Tyson knocked out Michael Spinks in 91 seconds during the first round to retain the Heavyweight Championship title.
  7. 1989 The B52’s Cosmic Thing, Chris Isaak’s Heart Shaped World, Pete Townshend’s The Iron Man: The Musical by Pete Townshend, Danger Danger‘s self debut Danger Danger, Don Henley’s The End of Innocence and King’s X‘s Gretchen Goes to Nebraska album were released.

  2. 1982 Robert Plant‘s Picture At Eleven and Jon Lord’s Before I Forget albums were released. Jules and Chief Jay Strongbow defeated Mr. Fuji and Mr. Saito for the WWF Tag Team Championship.
  3. 1985 AC/DC’s Fly on the Wall album was released. St. Elmo’s Fire premiered in theaters. The final episode of the animation Robotech aired.
  4. 1988 Stryper’s In God We Trust, Public Enemy’s It Takes a Nation of Millions to Hold Us Back and Amy Grant‘s Lean On Me albums were released. The final episode of J.J. Starbuck aired.
  5. 1989 Hoodo Gurus’ Magnum Cum Louder album was released.

  5. 1987 Ice-T’s Rhyme Pays album was released.
  6. 1989 Turner & Hooch, Friday the 13th Part VIII: Jason Takes Manhattan and Babar: The Movie premiered in theaters. Gloria Estefan‘s Cuts Both Ways album was released.

  2. 1981 Red Rider’s As Far as Siam and Al Jarreau‘s Breakin’ Away albums were released. Grant Tinker replaced Fred Silverman as president of NBC.
  3. 1985 The 39 American Hostages, hijacked from TWA flight 847 were freed in Beirut after 17 days. Code of Vengeance aired for the first time on NBC.
  4. 1986 Madonna‘s True Blue, Spandau Ballet‘s The Twelve Inch Mixes, Diamanda’s The Divine Punishment, Savatage’s Fight for the Rockand and Eurythmics Revenge albums were released. The United States Supreme Court ruled that states can outlaw homosexual acts between consenting adults.
  5. 1987 Lambaba‘s soundtrack was released. American television was interrupted by the Iran-Contra Affair hearings.
