Overview:
"Jinx" Released 2 May 1982 is the ninth studio release by the Irish musician Rory Gallagher.
After Gallagher got a chance for rest and recharged his batteries, he decided to revamp his backing band by going back to a four-piece and added keyboardist Bob Andrews, as well as new drummer Brendan O’Neill.
Jinx his first studio release in three years, first in the 80's, and as history would prove his last album for almost six years. The band here on Jinx is comprised of Gallagher on guitar & vocals, bassist Gerry McAvoy, keyboard player Bob Andrews, drummer Brendan O'Neill, and sax players Ray Beavis & Dick Parry. As with the few albums that came before it (Top Priority and Photo Finish), there's a great mix of fiery hard rock and smoldering blues to be found on Jinx, as the king of the beat up Stratocaster never fails to impress throughout the 11 songs on display here.

Jinx was Rory Gallagher's first 80s album and his 10th release. My favorite song from him will always be Moonchild and Philby which aren't off this album.
