I know this is kind of a weird question, and very specific…I’ve seen a few movies recently (Adventures in Babysitting, Girl Just Want to Have Fun, American Dreamer) where female characters are either hanging upside down, or lying upside down over the edge of their bed. I love making lists when it comes to obscure film cliche stuff like this, and right now I’m trying to find every instance I can in 80s film or TV where this occurs. Does anyone have any ideas? Thank you either way!

Three come to mind.

1. Beetlejuice - The scene where Geena Davis's character hangs upside down. It's a classic Tim Burton film with a lot of quirky elements.
2. A Nightmare on Elm Street - The scene where one of the female characters finds herself in a rather terrifying upside-down situation.
3. Poltergeist - The scene where the female character, played by JoBeth Williams, finds herself upside-down due to supernatural forces.

Thanks for the help! Can you shed any additional details, like roughly what point in the movies these scenes occur? Also if you can think of any more that helps! Thank you SO much either way!!

Actually yes I do. In Beetlejuice it happens around the 1-hour and 5-minute mark. In A Nightmare on Elm Street around 1 hour and 18 minutes into the movie. In the movie Poltergeist its around 1 hour and 32 minutes.
